Montana Real Estate License Renewal Requirements

Salesperson & Broker License Renewal

For real estate salespersons and brokers in Montana, licenses must be renewed annually by 10/31, and active licensees must complete 12 hours of continuing education each year to qualify for renewal. All courses must be approved by the Montana Board of Realty Regulation and be related to real estate practice. Montana does not require a specific breakdown of hours by topic, so the full 12 hours may be completed in any approved real estate subjects unless the Board specifies otherwise.

Our courses are approved by the Montana Board of Realty Regulation and fulfill all of the continuing education requirements for salespersons and brokers renewing their license.  Supervising brokers have different continuing education requirements, including 4 hours of supervising broker–specific education, which we do not currently offer.

Course Details

Course Format: Our courses are entirely online and self-paced, featuring a blend of text and interactive elements such as true/false questions, vocabulary matching, scenario-based learning, and more. This format makes our courses both engaging and informative.

Course Expiration: Expiration dates vary for each course but are generally one year after your order date.

Final Exams: The minimum passing score for final exams is 70% and there is no limit to the number of exam attempts.

Certificates: You will receive an electronic certificate of course completion immediately upon successful completion of the course.
