South Carolina Real Estate License Renewal Requirements
The South Carolina Real Estate Commission requires licensed real estate associates, brokers and brokers-in-charge to complete renew their license every two years.
Associate or Broker License Renewal
For associates and brokers in South Carolina, the renewal of an active license requires the completion of 10 hours of continuing education every two years. Of these 10 hours, at least 4 must be dedicated to mandatory topics, with the remaining 6 hours being elective courses. These courses must be approved by the South Carolina Real Estate Commission.
Broker-in-Charge Renewal
For brokers-in-charge, the requirements are slightly different. In addition to the 4 mandatory hours, brokers-in-charge must complete an additional 4 hours and 2 hours in elective courses. The 4 core hours for brokers-in-charge must include advanced real estate topics specifically designed for their role. As with associates and brokers, all courses for brokers-in-charge must be approved by the South Carolina Real Estate Commission.
